Abe Schwarz

In this submission, Abe Schwarz describes moving to Echuca for a Youth Services management role, where he connected with the Yorta Yorta mob and learned about colonisation through Uncle Alf “Boydie” Turner. He shared stories of Turner’s grandfather, Elder William Cooper, and the Australian Aborigines’ League. The horrific impacts of and colonisation suffered have continued in memories to this day.
