Meyer Eidelson is the President of the Middle Park and Albert Park History Group. The submission discusses the former Aboriginal Graveyard 1842 at Queen Victoria Market, highlighting its historical significance and the exhumation of Indigenous bodies in 1877. They call for the City of Melbourne to apologise for the graveyard’s destruction, protect remaining Aboriginal remains, and ensure respectful interpretation and appropriate memorial/s.

The Healing Foundation is the national organisation that platforms and elevates the voices and lived experiences of Stolen Generations survivors, their families, and their communities.
This submission provides information about the ongoing issues Stolen Generations Survivors face in relation to records access. It also calls on Yoorrook to investigate and report on work being done to improve
access to records, including both public and private collections, for Stolen Generations survivors, descendants, and organisations.
Submission – Kaiela Institute (Rumbalara Football Netball Club)
Rumbalara Football Netball Club (Rumbalara FNC) is an Aboriginal community run sporting club located in Shepparton, Victoria.
This submission is a Final Report into the Rumbalara Wellbeing and Resilience Project by Algabonyah Research and Impact Centre at the Kaiela Institute.
In recent years, the exposure of young members to racial vilification has compelled Rumbalara FNC to seek this evaluation of how well the club is supporting the wellbeing of its members, with a view to seek additional ways to promote wellbeing and resilience and decrease exposure to racism.
Submission – Elizabeth Wheeler
Elizabeth Wheeler discusses how colonisation devastated First Peoples, with ongoing systemic racism and widening disparities in health, education, and housing. Elizabeth’s education on their history was lacking, and she reflects on how real reform is needed, including implementing the Yoorrook recommendations and protecting cultural heritage. She calls for truth-telling, challenging racism, and greater recognition of Aboriginal culture and history.

Anonymous 1110 talks about her experience being arrested and taken through the court system by police after false accusations were made against her by a former partner. She also describes how police and the courts failed her family in the handling of her brother’s suicide, and the effects this has had for them.
Submission – Greg Woodworth
Greg Woodworth is a Ngaringu man. He describes how in the 1980s he was targeted by police in Melbourne’s CBD and beaten up to the point of being unconscious. When he awoke he was covered in blood that was not his. His liver became swollen after this and he was later diagnosed with Hepatitis C, experiencing lifelong health issues as a result. He would like to see the officers involved in the attack on him that night disgraced and the police brutality made public.

This submission concerns Aboriginal Economic Development (AED) within the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) formerly know as the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions. It outlines how the recruitment process for the Treaty Director and other roles is not being conducted ethically.
Submission – Debono-Alberts Family Group
The Debono-Alberts family lost their loved son and brother Anthony Wayne Alberts at age 38. They describe how emergency and health services failed to help them when they called out for help as Anthony became severely ill. This was after facing intergenerational community and systemic racism across his lifetime. They are calling for change in emergency and health services to prevent this happening to anyone else.
