This critical position will lead the Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) team and play a key role in delivering on Yoorrook’s truth telling objectives and ensuring Yoorrook’s work is trauma-informed, culturally safe and grounded in community and culture.
Working collaboratively across Yoorrook, the position will provide trauma-informed SEWB systems, initiatives, advice and ways of working across the Commission.
A key component of the role is to work collaboratively to build awareness and staff capability in trauma-informed approaches across all teams for both clinical and non-clinical staff.
Tertiary qualified or appropriately experienced, you will be a proactive self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills. You will have deep knowledge, understanding and respect for Aboriginal culture preferably with experience working in an Aboriginal community-controlled sector. You will have an understanding of colonisation in Victoria and its impacts along with an understanding of First Nations people who have experienced trauma.
A natural leader, you will have deep understanding of working in trauma-informed and multidisciplinary contexts and have exceptional skills in knowledge development across organisations. You will have a high level of commitment to self-care, reflective practice and supervision and experience in developing and fostering these with other staff.
