Elders’ Yarn Barmah

Commissioners were grateful to yarn with Yorta Yorta Elders in Barmah and visit the newly refurbished Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation Building on 14 April 2022. Commissioners also travelled to Dharnya where they yarned with Elders about the site’s significance as a place of learning and cultural connection.

Commissioners were grateful to be guided through Cummeragunja by Uncle Col Walker and Uncle Leon Atkinson on 12 April 2022. They also had the opportunity to yarn with Cummeragunja Elders and visit several significant sites.
