Make a submission about injustice

Telling the truth about our past will help build a better future for all Victorians

Why make a submission?

The Yoorrook Justice Commission is looking into injustice experienced by First Peoples in Victoria since colonisation - injustice that happened in the past and things that are still happening now.

We all do better when we listen and acknowledge the truth of our past and present.  And we all have a role to play in shining a light on injustice experienced by First Peoples.

By coming together to acknowledge injustice and resolve differences, we can create a shared future for all Victorians.

Your story will help Yoorrook create a public record of this injustice. It will also help Commissioners recommend changes to systems and laws. Yoorrook will provide these recommendations to the Victorian Government and the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria.

“I think it’s important to set the record straight about what really happened and continues to happen to us. I feel the rest of Australia would have more empathy for us if they knew the truth.”
- Tara Fry
