This submission makes two main arguments. The first is that history and social studies curriculum has been a favoured tool of Australian governments to legitimate white possession and settler violence. The second is that any recommendation that Yoorrook makes for the reform of history curriculum must take account and learn from global experiences, including from Canada, South Africa and other comparable countries, where curricular reforms have been linked to truth-telling processes.
