Summary
The Law and Advocacy Centre for Women Ltd is a Victorian community legal centre whose primary focus is to provide a gender-specific approach to assisting women who are in, or at risk of entering, the criminal justice system.
This submission examines the experiences of First Nations women in the criminal justice systems in the areas of: bail, remand and custody; over-policing; independent police oversight; raising the age of criminal responsibility; and rehabilitation.
